my little gardener



Emily is taking after her sister in her pure love of gardening. I had a very proud mama moment the other day when we were invited over to a neighbor's Octoberfest party. Grace and Emily were outside admiring their yard when Emily stroked their herb garden, enhaled a deep breath and said "Ahhhhhhh, wosemawee."

First Tooth!

Emily got her first tooth today! Bottom, right.


I know Em looks a bit shocked in the photo above. 
She must have been surprised to receive such a prestigious honor.

Wilbur is my Nobel Prize."

I have no doubt that these girls are going to do amazing things!

A Royal Wedding

I had the luxury of shopping alone at the farmer's market this weekend while Ryan took care of the girls. They spent hours making crowns for everyone we know. When I got home I gave Gracie a bouquet of narcissus. She gave me a huge hug and kiss and immediately turned to Ryan and said "Dad, will you marry me?"




And then she wanted to keep them by the changing table for Emily. Such a generous and thoughtful girl!

Solutions

G: Mama, how can we make mud for Wilbur?
B: We should make a brown silky!
G: Why?
B: Then we could pretend that the silky is mud.
G: I have a better solution. Let's make a big hole in our ceiling and put dirt all over the floor. Then when it rains, it will mix with the dirt and make MUD!

Yes, that would be a much better solution. Why didn't I think of that?

Is That Rudolph?


We found this fun blinking red nose at Restoration Hardware. They have really fun vintage stocking stuffers for those of you doing last minute shopping. We are getting so excited about Christmas here in the Coffee Cottage but Gracie said "I'm really excited about Christmas...but I am really, REALLY excited about Santa Barbara!" Maybe Ryan should be looking for a position at UCSB!?!
